PS5: A Month of Disappointment Finally Ends in Success
It’s been almost a month since the PlayStation 5 has been out on the market, and with each passing day, I find myself getting more and more disappointed as I watch the online store showing out of stock over and over again when I try to order my PS5 online. Then one day, I finally got lucky! Here’s how I finally scored a PlayStation 5 after an entire month of disappointment…
What went wrong
I had been trying to buy a PlayStation 5 since it was released a month ago. Every time I went online to purchase one, I was met with disappointment. The website would crash, the console would be sold out, or the price would be jacked up. I was beginning to lose hope that I would ever get my hands on one. But finally today I found an offer that seemed legit and jumped at the chance. That’s right! Today, after four weeks of headaches and disappointments, I finally got my hands on a PlayStation 5 and am so excited!
Why am I being punished for pre-ordering?
I pre-ordered my PlayStation 5 on Amazon back in September 2020, over a month ago. I was excited to get my hands on the next-gen console and play all the new games that would be released for it. But, month after month passed and I still didn’t have my PS5. I started to feel like I was being punished for pre-ordering the console. I even reached out to customer service, but they were no help. Finally, last week, my PS5 arrived.
My worst day ever
I woke up early on the morning of November 12th, the day the PlayStation 5 was released. I had been trying to buy a PS5 online for weeks, but every time I tried, I was unsuccessful. I was determined to get one on release day, so I set my alarm and woke up extra early. But when I went to the website to purchase my console, it was already sold out. I was so disappointed.

What was my success strategy?
It took a lot of patience and a little bit of luck, but I finally managed to score a PlayStation 5 online. Here’s what my strategy was First, I signed up for all the email newsletters from major retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Target. Second, I added all the PS5 consoles that showed up on these lists to my cart – but then waited until the end of each day before checking out (to see if there were any better deals). Third, every time an awesome deal came up – such as this one at Walmart – I’d jump on it right away! And fourth? A lot of patience and a little bit of luck!
Lessons learned
It’s been a month since the PS5 was released, and I’ve finally managed to get my hands on one. It wasn’t easy, and I had to go through a lot of disappointment before finally succeeding, but I’ve learned some valuable lessons along the way. 1) If you’re looking for a PS5, try not to rely on the retail stores- they might be all sold out by now. That being said, if you’re looking for another console or something else altogether, it’s worth checking out your local GameStop as they still have plenty of other models available. 2) You’ll want to make sure that you’ve got enough money set aside for shipping costs- this can really eat into your budget.
